Its the start of Glorious Goodwood, and todays nap Championship Point in the first race is our top rated and seems to tick all the right boxes.
Result: Jockey D Holland and trainer M Channon did us proud with a 8/1 winner.

Countback Uttoxeter 8:20 appears to be the best of a mediocre days racing (it’s almost a hang on to your money day). He has run and won at Uttoxeter twice this month, so a hat trick might be on the cards!!!
Result: He was rubbish finishing 8/8
Our Faye, Salisbury 8.40, has had two runs so far this year (one at goodwood, class 4 in July, the other here, class 5, in June) winning both. Tonights jockey G. Baker was on board for both. Today she is steping back in distance to 6f having previously won over 7f. She looks the pick of the pack.
In the big race of the day (Ascot, 4:20, King George VI) Scoprion should give Dylan Thomas a run for his money.
Result: Our Faye did us proud winning at 5-1.
Princess Zada Chepstow 7:50 is the Nap of the day.She won here in May when the going was good to soft and came second earlier this month when the going was soft good to soft in places. Jockey D Sweeney had the ride then and is in control to day.
Moon Valley 3:55 Sandown has never won a race in her life, nor have the rest of the field, it’s a maiden. In her four run career she has had three thirds and a second, so today’s race could be the one. Michael Hills has the reins for the the ride today, all her other races have been with different jockeys.
Result: She was pretty grim finishing 10/14. I think it was a case of picking a nap for the sack of it.
Toparudi Sandown 8:10 is today’s top rated. Jimmy Quin is going for his double having won here on the 6th July. When Jimmy has been the jockey Toparudi has never been out of the top three. trainer Mark Tompkins gets my top marks.
Result: Not very good was he !! managed 5/7
Bond Boy Beverley 8:00 will be scampering down the course this evening with S O’Hara in the saddle on his way to the winning post. Five furlong sprints are not may favourite races, but with so few in the race and with him going down a class also the jockey claiming five pounds he appears to have everything going for him.
Result: ”don’t let your heart rule your head” I wish I had stuck to that old adage yesterday and left old Bond Boy alone. He finished 7/9.
The weather is the winner today, with so many meetings off it’s not worth selecting a nap just for the sake of it. Watch the Golf it should be great today with wind and rain due.
Circle of Love 3:05 Newbury is today’s selection. The three year old filly is moving up a class. She has had four races in her career and has finished no worse than third in all of them. Her most recent win was at Pontefract earlier this month over ten furlongs and soft going.
