Land Rover Champion Novice Hurdle

Trafford Lad 4:55 Punchestown is today’s selection. Up against his old rival Fiveforthree who beat him by four lengths at Cheltenham this year, but this is Fiveforfour’s second run in three days and could be to much for him.

Richard Flower Maiden Stakes Folkestone 2:15

Oarsman Folkestone 2:15 is today’s selection. Well beaten into third place here in early April by Pravda Street. He should have every chance of a win with the competition today.

2008 Scottish Grand National

Well the Coral Scottish Grand National (Ayr, 3:40) is a bit of an odd race this year - only the top three are in the handicap. As such we will take Miko de Beauchene, to end his season on a high. Ossmoses was fancied by some for the Aintree Grand National, but failed to make the cut and could make the frame here.

one4racing Saturday Patent

We’re back with a one4racing patent today: Barbers Shop (1:50 Newbury) should get the day off to a good start although not at a very big price. We’ll take the consistent Bengo (4:00 Newbury) to get a rare win. Todays best bet is Planet Of Sound (4:35 Newbury) going should suit, has a slight weight advantage over main rivals and hopefully should make the wait till the end of the day worthwhile for a fine win.

Ascot 5:15 Fridays Nap

Scots Dragoon Ascot 5:15 is today’s selection. A disappointing third last time out after winning three on the trot. Has had a rest and the going should suit today.

Leighton Aspell Fan Club Handicap Chase

Cleymor House Fontwell 4:40 is todays selection. Has won his last four races, is five on the bounce to much? Not a strong field so just might do it.

2008 Aintree Grand National

Our horse this year in the Aintree Grand National (4:15)) is Mr Pointment. In November Mr Pointment beat Bewleys Berry in the Becher Chase. Burst a blood vessel when starting 6/4 fav in his last race which went to todays forecast fav Cloudy Lane. we’ll forgive this run and hope the best. Winning the Grand National would make it a dream year for trainer and jockey who have already won the Gold Cup with Denman.
